Wanting everyone to be able to receive the full benefits of all the unique features offered at PKR, it launched as a stand alone operator. Despite not being a part of a larger network, they have grown through distinctive marketing campaigns and most importantly, word of mouth. It has even overcome the ultimate hurdle in its current growth as on the eve of its launch the US passed the Internet Gambling Enforcement Act, which kept PKR totally out of the US market.
PKR started not only from a stand still but with a large internet poker community instantly wiped out and had built itself up to a top 20 poker room with over 7,500 players logged in a night and a total of $245 million bet in the past year.
So what is ahead for PKR? According to PKR Marketing Director Simon Prodger, “We’re very excited about our first year results and it’s definitely cause for celebration. But we have no intentions of resting on our laurels. PKR has set very aggressive growth targets for the next 12 months and we’re looking forward to even bigger and better things to come.”
