If you happen to be on the PKR.com mailing list then you received an email today that certainly caught your eye, just like it caught mine. PKR sent out a spiffy looking graphic email that said "What's The Big Idea?" and the email was titled This Is Big. So, what is this big idea all about?
Well, apparently PKR thinks that they're getting up there with the big dogs in England when it comes to online gaming sites. At the bottom of the email, they say they want to be big, "As big as Betfair and Ladbrokes." For those of you who don't know, Betfair and Ladbrokes are the two major online gambling companies in England that cater to the English market.
So, is PKR just getting a big head, or do they actually have something to talk about? I did a little research, and at the time of this posting there are 1,050 real money cash table players on PKR, one of the highest totals I've ever seen at the site. At Ladbrokes, a site that routinely exceeds 1,000 cash game players, there were 950 active cash table players online. And at Betfair there were 906 real money ring game players online.
When I saw this information, I was shocked. PKR, only launching within the past year or two, has already eclipsed the two giants in the England online poker market. So apparently, the claims they're making in their email aren't far off at all, and are actually already true. Great job PKR, you're really making strides!
